Maimai the motivator

February 19th, 2010 by mitone

I’m a natural motivator. I know, pat myself on the back. Really though, I got a whole bunch of people on P90X when I first started. I was so pumped about it, if anyone commented on how great I looked (I was 30lbs overweight and lost 20 at that point) I would just talk to anyone about my workout and all the wonderful results. And these people (sister, brother in law to name a few) would look at me and wonder, well hell, if she can do it, I should be able to.

I’m the least athletic person in the family and the last one to get into such an intense workout program, so seeing me get into P90X made them want to give it a try. They’d think, it’s not that extreme if she can handle it. Ha ha! And I was the one laughing when they said their first workout made them want to throw up!

My latest convert is my brother who just started his first week. I’m using myself as a tool to keep him going. He can’t quit if his oldest sister is on the program. That would just be humiliating and no one would ever let him live that down.

About Absolutely Mai Mai

Mai Mai was a name I gave myself when I was a little girl. Absolutely Mai Mai is written by Mitone (me) who is a wife to a wonderful husband and a mom to 2 beautiful daughters. I work full-time, am committed to the Rotary Club and currently obsessed over my weight and figure.

I’m a Filipina living in Northern California and I’ll be writing about me, my family, my extended family, my near constant obsession with weight gain and loss, work life, my commitment to my community and the Rotary Club, travel of which I love to do and don’t do enough, being Filipino, food and anything else that I can think of and strikes my fancy.

I’d welcome an exchange of links and would appreciate it if you decide to use anything on this site, please source it. Feel free to tell others about me. I make no money on this website, it’s just purely for me to chronicle my memes in a blog instead of on Twitter or Facebook. Feel free to leave some comments, I'd welcome your feedback.

Thanks for reading.
